LibrariesFirst collects publicly-available data on employment (compensation, benefits, etc) and not on any specific or identified persons. Our mission is to provide aggregated data on which libraries may make hiring and other employment decisions based on similar subscriber libraries, not to encourage, foster or influence those decisions regarding any particular person or class of persons. Therefore, release of data to subscribers or others will not contain any data relating to any person or class of persons, especially regarding race, religion, ethnicity, gender or gender preference, or any other protected class or identity.
Data collected does NOT include any information on, nor target, children under the age of 13. Moreover, while the data collected does include information on health benefits extended to employees, it does NOT include any data regarding elections by specific persons nor any other information not publicly available under law. Data collected does NOT include name, address, date of birth, marital status, contact information, ID issue and expiry date, financial records, credit information, medical history, where anyone travels, or intentions to acquire goods and services.
Voluntary release of collected data will be limited to subscribers, whether libraries or others, paying annually or for one-time reports. In addition, data in specific or aggregated form may be released to agencies legally permitted or required to receive such data, and in response to official notification(s). Due to the non-personal nature of the data, and considering that all such collected data is freely available to anyone in the public domain, the likelihood of hacking or other intrusion is minimal.
All credit card data will be collected in a secure, encrypted environment and will not be retained by LibrariesFirst beyond the processing of approved charges to the account. No credit card data nor connection with any subscriber is ever stored in our database.
